Brackaville 0-9 Aghaloo 0-8-

Brackaville were crowned junior football champions for the fourth time on Sunday afternoon as they edged out Aghaloo at Healy Park.

The Owen Roes were made to fight all the way for the win against an Aghaloo side which had already claimed the league title.

While it was far from a classic, the game did produce an exciting finish as Aghaloo fought back from three points down to bring the sides level with five minutes remaining but the Roes fought back.

Joe Rafferty, introduced as a late substitute made a huge difference when he came in, scoring a point and then setting up what proved to be the winner for Paul O’Neill less than a minute later.

Aghaloo, who kicked ten second half wides, narrowed the gap to a point, with Niall McElroy on target for the O’Neills but they just couldn’t fashion another chance as Brackaville held on.
