The club is hosting the launch of Gerard McAtasney’s excellent new book entitled Tom Clarke, Life, Liberty, Revolution” in the Ranfurly House Arts Centre at Hill of The O’Neill starting at 7.30pm on Thursday 31st January. The book is a fascinating insight into the life of Tom Clarke.

A new recruitment drive has got under way for Club Tír na nÓg in 2013. Existing members and prospective new members will be contacted with a view to either renewing their membership or joining this exciting and ever expanding scheme for the first time.
The donations made by members of Club Tír na nÓg since its formation in 2009 have been vital in funding our day-to-day activities and improving our club development and facilities. This membership scheme is our biggest club fundraiser and is open to any individual, family or business wishing to join. Ordinary club membership for 2013 is now due. The fees for this year are as follows: Adult £40 and Youth £20. For families with three or more children, the cost for total youth membership will be £50. New members, and those who wish to renew their membership, should note that payment can be made to any member of the club committee. The closing date for ordinary club membership is Thursday 28th February, 2013.
The preliminary round of Scór Sinsear will be held on the weekend of Friday 25th to Sunday 27th January. Our club hope to be represented include: Amhránaíocht Aonaoir (Solo Singing); Aithriseoireacht (Recitation); Bailéad Ghrúpa (Ballad Group); and Tráth na gCeisteanna (Question Time). The aim for our senior club participants will be to emulate the feats of our junior members who excelled themselves at the 2012 Scór na nÓg; to be involved contact either Caoimhe or Liam Lynch (Cultural Officers) now.
It was with deep regret and sadness that the committee, players and members of An Mhaigh Tír na nÓg G.A.C. learned of the death last week of Mrs Rita McParland, much loved mother of our esteemed member Fionnuala Kelly, mother-in-law of Raymond and loving grandmother of playing member Jack. Annual presentation Night is on Saturday 26th January in the Bardic. On the night individual awards will be presented as well as the medals to our successful Ladies Intermediate Championship winners. The club invites players, members, sponsors and supporters to this event, a chance for us as a club to show our appreciation for all your work, support and effort for 2012.
Club Donaghmore is taking on a new format for 2013. All paid up members will now be entered into a monthly draw for two prizes- £150 and £50. The first draw is at the presentation night on the 26th. The money raised from Club Donaghmore will upgrade our facilities. Ask any committee member for details on how to join. All support is needed and greatly appreciated.

The club has booked a Cardiac screening session for Saturday 23rd February. There will be two technicians (at least one will be female) and each screening takes 5-7 minutes. Each person being screened is required to complete a questionnaire which can be completed beforehand or on the day. Those who are U16 will require parental/guardian consent and the screening is open to all between the ages of 14-35 years at a cost of £35 per person. The screening is open to all members of the public as well. Bookings can be made by phoning 07936 383582.

It is mandatory to use a mouthguard in all Gaelic football matches and training sessions for all up to and including minor. If a player refuses to comply he can be sent off and players will not be covered under Player Injury Scheme if not wearing one. Any mouthguard with CE mark on it is sufficient to ensure compliance with the new rule.
Anyone with a key to the clubrooms that isn’t required is asked to hand it back to Bronagh asap.

On Saturday Eoghan Ruadh dispatched four teams to separate venues for the North Antrim u12 Indoor Leagues. It was a great day of hurling with the teams winning ten, drawing six and losing eight. It’s likely that we will qualify for divisions one, four, five and six after the initial seeding, top two in each division contesting the finals. Thanks to Cathal, Pádraig, Tomas and Paul and all those who helped out.
The second Dan Morgan Ball Wall Memorial Competition is now in full swing, Cathal McErlean, John Devlin and Tomas Colton qualifying for the next round. Michael McErlean, Pádraig Devlin, Gareth McGrath and that man Colton again, have qualified for the masters section.
Pádraig Pearses Senior Hurling Club from Galway will be guests of Eoghan Ruadh on the lastweekend of January. Pádraig Pearses represent the Ballymacward/Gurteen parish in Co. Galway
and field teams from U10 to Senior. Formed in 1966 they have won four County Intermediate titles and 2010 Connacht title. Players have represented Galway at all levels. Cyril Donnellan and Fearghal Flannery are part of the Galway Senior panel. Anyone interested in providing accommodation is asked to contact Cathal. This is their second visit, U14 team here in 2012 after hosting Eoghan Ruadh in 2011 Féile na nGael.
