The Tyrone senior camogie team had their first training session of the New Year on Sunday past with their new manager Dean McParland. The session was very well attended and with lots of new faces on show the team is looking forward to the first National League Division 4 fixture at home to Wicklow on February 24th. It is anticipated that the numbers at training this year will increase from next week and that can only bode well for the team. Training is at St Josephs College, Coalisland on Sunday at 10:30am and players should be prepared to use the indoor facilities if weather conditions are poor.
Tyrone camogs Niamh McNulty and Rebecca Barker had expected to hear about their Ulster schools All Stars awards at the beginning of January but the trials unfortunately had to be cancelled due to inclement conditions. For further information and to book your place on any of the workshops contact Ross Corbett on email@example.com, places will be limited. The workshops will be free of charge. Below are the dates and rough venues for the workshops, exact venues will be confirmed shortly. Workshop 1: January 15th, Belfast, Workshop 2: January 23rd, Armagh and Workshop 3: January 31st, Omagh.
There has recently been launched an on-line version of Our Games - Our Code, the joint Code of Best Practice in Youth Sport. It is the most comprehensive good practice guidance publication to date and it is important that as many players, coaches, parents and other Club personnel have immediate access to its contents. This Code has been agreed between the GAA, the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, the Camogie Association, GAA Handball Ireland and the Rounders Council of Ireland. The Code replaces all previous Codes and is a mandatory Code of Best Practice for all Gaelic Games Associations in our work with underage players.
