Holiday season is here; it’s a pity about the weather. Yet 140 members still braved the elements on Saturday week to take part in Captain’s Cup.

Twenty players even managed to get into the twos money - and a couple of these did it twice over the eighteen holes.

As always, however, there could only be one winner, and that turned out to be Connor McElhatton, who was one point over the double-score total and that got him home by a single point from Damien McNulty - with the form of longstanding club official Sean Coary still holding up very well as he finished in third spot a point further back - winning that prize from three rivals by virtue of the countback system.

Winner: Connor McElhatton 41

Runner-up: Damien McNulty 40

Third: Sean Coary 39BBN

Gross: Timothy Jordan 72

0–10: Mark McCausland 38

11–17: Martin Rafferty 39

18plus: Stephen Lee 39BBN

There was a pretty good turn-out as well for the weekly Wednesday Medal, a posse of players fiercely contesting the winner’s prize.

But Philip Rea did just enough to finish top of the pile, carding 42 points to edge out Ciaran McGirr who was best of the 41 points scorers, with Conor Lowe finishing in third place, with a countback going to the last six holes.
