Team matches start once again at the beginning of all golfing seasons, with the Fred Daly starting our ball rolling last weekend.

The Fred Daly and Ronan Rafferty teams are for our juniors under the age of 18. The first round was played against Masserene on Sunday 29th and Fred Daly team won at Masserene 6 matches to 1.

Poor weather conditions on Friday and Saturday meant the front nine of Masserene course had to be closed, so the match was played over two rounds of the back nine.

The rain cleared away on Sunday afternoon for the first tee off, however the winds were a demanding test for the Dungannon players on the loughshore course at Masserene.

The Dungannon Junior team were four matches up after the front nine and somehow ground out another two matches by the end of play.  Final scores were as follows:

Harry McGeary – Lost

Ciaran Mccabe – Won – 2up

Danny Madden – Won – 3 & 2

Christopher Charlton – Won – 2 & 1

Conor McCrystal – Won – 4 & 3

Orrin McGurk – Won – 9 & 7

Jamie McCaul – Won – 8 & 7
