Congratulations are extended from everyone at Dungannon Golf Club to Past Lady Captain Sadie Maxwell, who celebrated her 100th birthday on Sunday February 22.

Sadie, who was Lady Captain in 1960, has kindly donated to the ladies branch a trophy, which will be called the Sadie Maxwell Trophy

It’s intended to encourage new lady members to play in competitions. They will play for this in September.

Last Wednesday 25th the club captain Peter Quinn, president Pat O’Kane, lady captain Alexis Davidson, lady president Briege McQuaid and all members of council and committee got together at the club for a superb meal to say a big thank you to Past Honorary Secretary Sean T Hughes for all his hard work and dedication to the club. He has retired from his post after twelve years.

In 1987-1988 Sean T was captain and 1991–1993 he was in the role of president.Sean T then took on the position of trustee and still retains that to this day. He became bar convenor in 2001 and, a year later, he took on the post as honorary secretary.

Thus, he has been a very active individual around the club and did a lot to get it up to the standard it has today.
