There’s just been no stopping Karen Hetherington in recent weeks at Dungannon Golf Club and yet another win has brought another handicap cut for the lady vice-captain.

The ladies played for the October medal and Karen was the winner with a net score of 69 playing off a handicap of eight - and now she is playing off seven. The runner-up with a net 74 was Celia Devlin.

The ladies played their last 13 hole competitions on Tuesday, a lovely afternoon with enjoying their game.

The winner with 27 points was Jayne Henry and the runner-up with just one fewer was Deirdre MacGowan.

Blaine Nugent’s play improved as his round in the Wednesday Medal went on and it was just as well, because he only won it by virtue of a better back nine.

Conor Lowe matched Nugent’s score of 41 points, but had to be saisfied with the runners-up prize on a day when there were only two twos in the weekly stabelford competition at Dungannon.

The Seniors Open, sponsored by contract services, attracted a lot of visitors, helped by the good weather, with the winner being Peter Hughes via a commedable 42 points.

170 members played in the first Turkey Trot event, Timmy Cardwell winning with 43 points, one ahead of Hugh Pat McCann. both of them receiving a ham.
