Mallon tops at Dungannon ahead of O’Neill and McElroy

Dwayne Mallon scored a gross total of 137 to came tops overall as 200 members took part in Original Club Shield, 15 handicapper Ronan O’Neill now down to 12 after winning on day one, with Jack McElroy taking the day two honours.

Forty teams took part in the annual Golf Club Classic, top ladies team comprising Carole Burnside, Lorraine Wilson, Amanda Bingham, Bernadette Keenan on 99pts. Second were Ann Coulter, Briege McQuaid, Lorna Stewart, Shirley McCausland 93pts.

Gents winners with 109BBN were Barry O’Neill, Conor McElhatton, Donal and Niall Hasson, runners-up being Maurice Begley, Des Fitzpatrick, Brendan McCurry and Michael Quinn got B&B, 1 round and meal at Castleknock Hotel, Dublin.

The Wednesday Medal was won by Donal O’Neill with 45 points, Conor McCrystal filling the runner-up berth on countback with 43. Eleven players had twos.
