Moy Tir na nOgs will be going into arguably their biggest match of the year without six of their top players, because they are going away on a ‘stag’ trip.

County star Colm Cavanagh has had the trip to Las Vegas booked for about two years and it’s understood that he’ll be accompanied by five others - his brother and fellow county star Sean, as well as Ryan O’Neill, Tommy Conlon, James Devlin and Doc Lavery.

With the under-pressure Moy men set to play a crunch concluding league match against fellow strugglers Augher St.McCartans on Sunday, the prospects for their survival in the senior grade now look rather ominous.

It’s thought the club tried to have the game rescheduled but, because all the matches in the last round must be played simultaneously, there was never really any chance they would be facilitated.

The Moy Tir na nOgs club chairman, Peter McKearney confirmed their plight but has understandably declined to make any comment.
