Congratulations go to Cookstown High School’s Minor Netball Squads who have won the SELB League Final.

They faced St Paul’s Bessbrook in the final, having previously been beaten by this team in earlier stages of this competition.

This just made them more determined to win and Cookstown stepped up their game and dominated the first quarter. Indeed, they worked tirelessly throughout the match to win 10 goals to 9 in a very tight contest, taking the SELB Trophy and the gold medals.

The minors now go through to the quarter-finals of the NI League in February.

The school’s intermediate squad faced Sacred Heart Newry in their final and were always going to have a big challenge on their hands against a very experienced side.

Despite a valiant effort, Cookstown were beaten to the gold medals losing 24–12.
