This Friday and Saturday the roads around Bush will reverberate with the screech of powerful motorcycles flashing around at speeds in excess of 150 miles and hour on one of the biggest days in the Road Racing calendar, writes Seamus Donnelly.
This year’s H2 Engineering Bush Road Races promise to be fascinating, with Killyman rider Ryan Farquahar seeking to equal his unprecedented five-timer at last year’s event.
The 3.3 mile circuit provides a fascinating test for the riders as they compete over the course of a ten-race card.
Run by the Dungannon and District Motorcycle Club, the races are now in their seventh year and are going from strength to strength.
Roads will close from 4pm on Friday, re-opening at 9.30pm that night and close at 10am on Saturday until 7.30pm that evening.
The club is thankful to all their sponsors for their help in making this year’s races possible.
“The Dungannon & District Motorcycle Club are pleased to once again welcome back H2 Engineering as main sponsor. We are indebted to H2 Engineering for all their assistance in helping to run the race” a spokesperson said.
“We also thank the Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council for their support, along with our other longtime sponsors.
“New backers for 2012 are Greiner Packaging who will sponsor the Bush Open Race and Emerald Road Racing Magazine who will sponsor the 250cc/400cc race.”
