Caledon claim Mid-Ulster five-a-side crown against Magherafelt

The Mid-Ulster Battalion of the Boys’ Brigade held their annual U14 indoor 5-a-side football competition on Saturday 24th November 2012 at Loughview Sports Centre, Dungannon.

Seven companies from the Battalion were represented: 1st Caledon, 1st Cookstown, 1st Dungannon, 1st Moneymore, 1st Tobermore, 1st Castledawson and 1st Magherafelt.

The competition was played on a group basis with a group of four teams and a group of three teams. After some good games 1st Caledon and 1st Magherafelt emerged as the two group winners.

In a closely fought final 1st Caledon beat 1st Magherafelt 2-0 and retained the 1st Moy trophy for the third year in succession.

Congratulations to 1st Caledon on this fantastic achievement. As is the Boys’ Brigade tradition the evening was closed with prayer.

Thanks are extended from the Battalion to Dungannon United Youth for the hire of their facilities.
