The first league game between the two CYFC saw the U-11s prove to be too strong for the Colts.
The game started very strongly from the midfield of Murray, Bell, and O’Neill providing the front pairing of Devlin and Wylie.
Nathan Murray scored the first two goals of the game making it 2-0 at half-time.
The second half saw Cookstown Colts get more into the game and apply pressure on the CYFC defence, only to be stopped by a very strong backline in the second half of Anderson, Brown, Turkington and Bartley.
The CYFC team showed their strength with another goal from Devlin and a first league goal for Stewart Wylie.

Cookstown got off to a shocking start as they failed to deal with two high balls into the area and were punished on each occasion.
Another goal followed but Cookstown started to find their feet and competed well for the rest of the match.
Brendan Davey and Robert Turkington worked hard in midfield while Tom Black was strong up front and helped to set up Ryan McFarland for Cookstown’d first goal of the match.
Tom Black added a second to set up an intresting finale tpo the match and though Ryan Murphy and Kaelum irbvine showed well in defence the Cookstown lads couldn’t stop the Sky Blues running out 6-2 winners with a flurry of late goals.

Cookstown played their fifth game in the National League determined to get the first three points on the board.
They boys knew they had played well in all the games so far but they just couldn’t get the winning mentality going.
This game was no different, they played well in patches and should have won but they had to settle for a draw when Stevie Arrell scored a last minute penalty to rescue a point.
The match had started poorly. Northend applied the pressure from the first whistle and found themselves in front after a minute when the small attacker clipped home a cross from the left.
It could have been two, maybe even three afterwards, only for some last ditch defending and good goalkeeping by Ben Young and eventually Cookstown got into the game.
It was all level when a free kick was awarded to Dingley on the edge of the box and Arrell hammered it home to break his scoring duck.
However things weren’t to improve a lot over the next 40 minutes and Cookstown were very open at times and were 3-1 down with just five minutes to play.
The coaches were confident a goal might stir a comeback but it didn’t look likely until Ryan Dobson fired in a left foot volley over the keeper and the Cookstown team had belief with five minutes to go.
A soft free kick was committed by Northend 35 yards from goal and when Arrell crossed the ball to Donnelly the defender was too tight and fouled the midfielder.
Arrell calmly slotted home despite the Northend players and coaches jeering and shouting to put Stevie off.
The boys can be proud of their comeback but know the game was there to be won. Sooner rather than later the boys need to turn their good play into wins.
Man of the Match this week was Stevie Arrell after he ‘broke the duck’ with Adam Keane a close runner up.

The Development Centre continues this Friday evening at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena from 6.30pm until 8pm.
Cookstown Youth FC are delighted with the response to the new Friday sessions and Manager Kyra Kelly would like to thank all the Players, their Parents/Guardians and the CYFC Coaches for making the sessions a success thus far.
Players are reminded to get to MUSA 15 minutes early to facilitate Registration and also to wear warm clothing along with proper football boots and shin guards.
Parents are also reminded to collect their Kids at the New 4G Pitch at 8pm sharp.
