The 2015 Schools Cup kicks off this weekend and there are some interesting ties in the first round, none more so than the clash between Regent House and Dungannon Royal School.

Last season Royal boys suffered defeat in the opener but the team, under the captaincy of Jack Milligan, made amends going on to win the Schools Trophy to give new Coach, Gareth McClintock a silver lining to his first season in Dungannon.

John Buckley, who played fullback in that success, leads the side from the out-half spot.

Not having yet played Regent this season makes the opposition something of an unknown quantity, but both captain and coaches would unquestionably like to go one better and make the second round draw, hope for a home draw in that and then take their chance against whatever opposition is thrown up.

RSD have had a pre-Christmas training week in Portugal and feel that they are capable of clearing the first hurdle in Newtownards on Saturday morning.
