With only two rounds of matches left to play, Mitchells INF have already prevailed in the contest to be crowned Division Two champions of the Seniors section of the East Tyrone Snooker League.

Gary McNeill and Ryan Starkey achieved another whitewash this week, this time against a carefree Gervins B side, and the Cookstown team’s fifth 5-0 scoreline in the eight matches played put them beyond reach of the other five teams.

It means they are a whopping twelve points clear of the joint second-placed pair, Max Keady C and McVeighs A, who both dropped two points.

McVeighs were denied a 4-1 win when Dennis Holden from Mitchells B played two amazing cut shots in the doubles game, the first to secure a re-spotted black decider and the second to pot it off its spot.

In Division One, the leading two teams, both from the Max club, won 3-2 to leave the top of the table placings unchanged, the south Armagh teams looking certain to occupy the trophy slots.
