Dungannon Ladies exceeded all expectations with their 2014 achievements, the pinnacle being a first appearance in Senior Hockey Cup Final - with captain Lynda Elliott a key contributor.

Such was Lynda’s influence and inspiration in reaching the final against Banbridge, she was an obvious choice for the last Sports Personality of the Month award, collecting her vouchers in McConnell’s Sports Shop.

“To be successful, virtually all teams have a talisman that epitomises the values of the club. This can certainly be said of Lynda Elliott. From her first appearance in the Junior Section of the Club 20 years ago, Lynda has been driven by a belief to give 100% and motivate team-mates by both her work-rate and ability” says club chairman David Mulligan, dubbing her a worthy but modest recipient.

“Taking the club to the final and sustaining a promotion drive exemplifies her qualities, but she will undoubtedly any recognition she receives as being for the whole squad” added the chairman.
