In stark contrast to the side’s first meeting at the beginning of the month the game had few flash points.

Three first half goals, from PJ Lavery, Shay McGuigan and Sean Cavanagh were enough to put Tyrone in control of the game at the break, coasting home in the second half as they held the Orchard County at arms length.

Connor McAliskey was on target with three points from play in the second period, including a stunning effort with his weaker left foot from near the sideline.

McAliskey was later awarded with the man of the match award.

Tyrone will now meet Cavan in repeat of the 2014 Dr McKenna Cup final which Mickey Harte’s charges won.
