Tyrone advanced to yet another Dr McKenna Cup final with a comfortable victory over Armagh in the Athletic Grounds on Wednesday night.
A crowd of over 7,500 where in attendance as Tyrone saw off the challenge of the Orchard County in surprisingly straightforward fashion.
In stark contrast to the side’s first meeting at the beginning of the month the game had few flash points.
Three first half goals, from PJ Lavery, Shay McGuigan and Sean Cavanagh were enough to put Tyrone in control of the game at the break, coasting home in the second half as they held the Orchard County at arms length.
Connor McAliskey was on target with three points from play in the second period, including a stunning effort with his weaker left foot from near the sideline.
McAliskey was later awarded with the man of the match award.
Tyrone will now meet Cavan in repeat of the 2014 Dr McKenna Cup final which Mickey Harte’s charges won.
