LAUGH away the winter and credit crunch blues at the Burnavon Cookstown with the exclusive staging of comedian Jake O'Kane's brand new one man comedy show, Tear Gas on Saturday 14th February at 8pm. Yes, it is also Valentine's night, offering a fun alternative night out for couples to avoid the candlelight dinners and awkward over the table silences with lots of laughs and conversation starters for first dates!
The resident compere of Belfast's Empire Hall Comedy Club and panelist on the BBC's Blame Game TV & Radio shows, Jake O'Kane, has selected the Burnavon Cookstown to stage the first ever and to date only scheduled performance of his brand new show, T
ear Gas featuring lots of new material.
Tear Gas will take the audience on a journey back through the 'Troubles' in Northern Ireland, in a side splittingly funny way, looking back at Jake's life growing up through those turbulent times. The comedian's new material spans political satire to observational whimsy as he deals with how ordinary people survived extraordinary times, somehow retaining a sense of humour. Jake cuts a swathe through Northern Irish life both political, religious and everything in between. Audiences are well advised to check in any bigotry they may possess with their coats before the show which contains strong language.
Jake has toured with some of the biggest names on the comedy circuit including Peter Kay, Ardal O'Hanlon and Dylan Moran. He has also written and performed on some of Northern Ireland's top TV programmes including Give My Head Peace, McKeever and Kelly.
Tony McCance, Manager at the Burnavon said, "We are delighted that Jake O'Kane has selected the Burnavon Cookstown for his debut performance of Tear Gas, especially as Jake was a regular favourite with our audience during the Burnavon Comedy Club. Tear Gas is guaranteed to give a few hours of good value light entertainment away from the everyday stresses and strain and is a must for anyone who enjoys original, good quality stand-up comedy live in an intimate venue, even on valentine's night!"
Tickets cost £12 each and there is a 4 for 3 ticket offer for Tear Gas tickets purchased in the same transaction before Saturday 31st January at the Burnavon Box Office on 028 8676 9949.
Only 100 tickets are left for Jake O'Kanes new comedy show Tear Gas, costing £12 each, available online at www.burnavon.com or from the Box Office on 028 8676 9949.
