Coalisland’s unemployed are among those being targeted by a new work programme that will include both paid placements and community projects.
The Social Investment Fund project, which is being run by Network Personnel, has been titled ‘Work It’ and is being funded by Newry and Down Council.
Lasting 32 months, the programme is being rolled out to include 160 young people, 96 of whom should be 16/17 with the remainder being 18 and older.
Participants, who must be from Coalisland, Portadown, Lurgan and Newry, are to be given work for 48 weeks.
