Lord Morrow MLA has called for the Derrylee Road area of Tamnamore to be included in their programme of works, due to widespread subsidence and uneven surfacing.
The DUP assembly man said the ‘deplorable state’ of the road has been raised with by a number of constituents.
“They are aggrieved at the conditions which have developed following years of neglect.
“This is an extremely busy thoroughfare, and is part of daily bus-route and other heavy traffic flow.
“I visited the scene for myself and it is obvious major repair work needs to commence as a matter of urgency. The level of damage is worsening the longer this is left untreated and constituents are fearful of an accident as a result.
“The road itself has simply been left unrepaired for far too long and this needs remedied at the earliest possible opportunity.
“There is widespread subsidence and uneven surfacing, which has not been addressed for many years.
Lord Morrow added: “I have contacted Road Service and asked for an immediate inspection of this road and clarification as to when Derrylee Road will be added to the resurfacing programme.”
