Cash in transit van robbery in Aughnacloy

POLICE have made an appeal for witnesses following an armed robbery of a cash in transit van in the Moore Street area of Aughnacloy at around 12 noon today, Friday.

It was reported that two males, armed with a machete, stole a cash box from the van.

One of the perpetrators is described as being 5’ 10” tall, of solid build, wearing a full face balaclava.

The culprits are understood to have made off towards Monaghan.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed anything or who saw a dark coloured saloon car and a light coloured car in the area at the time.
