Coalisland boxer Conrad Cummings has taken another step towards his goal of becoming a world champion, with a stoppage win on Saturday night.
Cummings who has won nine of his ten professional fights, saw off the challenge of a spirited Frankie Borg in Cardiff.
A report from the fight on the South Wales Argus website, recounted the action from the middle weigh contest.
“Borg, who turns 36 next month, more than held his own in the early stages.
“He was doing well in the fifth round until a couple of swift Cummings blows left him on the canvas and facing a county from referee Martin Williams.
“And the official stopped the bout 79 seconds into the last of the six rounds with Borg’s legs wobbling after a clean left had rocked him back on his heels.”
