Detectives are investigating reports of a bogus caller in the Dungannon and Fivemiletown areas, after a man claiming to be from a utility company stole money from the home of an elderly lady.
PSNI Detective Inspector Hazel Reid said: “We are investigating two reports of bogus callers [and] at this stage we are investigating a possible link, but we need help from the public.
“Both incidents happened on January 19th.
“In the first incident a man purporting to be from a utility company called at the home of an elderly lady in the Park Avenue area of Dungannon at around 10am. The male entered the property but nothing appears to have been taken.
“In the second incident a man, again purporting to be from a utility company, called to the home of an elderly lady in the Main Street area of Fivemiletown, at around 12noon. A sum of cash was taken.”
