A man has been arrested by police investigating an attempted knife-point robbery at a restaurant in Dungannon yesterday.

It is understood the culprit entered the eatery and threatened a member of staff with a knife.

The incident took place at premises on the Newell Road on November 23.

Detective Inspector Will Tate said: “A man entered premises and threatened a staff member with knife.

“Police later located this individual and he was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery, possession of an offensive weapon and threats to kill.”
