Police have today named the man whose body was found in a garage near Coalisland last Thursday.
Lithuanian national 32-year-old Gediminas Stauskas has connections to the Dungannon area.
It is thought he had only recently been released from prison after being jailed for five and a half years for the manslaughter of another Lithuanian man in a Dungannon carpark in broad daylight in 2011.
Audrius Aukstuolis died as the result of stab wounds inflicted during a fatal ‘duel’.
Detectives from Serious Crime Branch are continuing to investigate a possible link between this murder and an incident in Coalisland on Wednesday 14 October when a man is reported to have been assaulted and shot in the leg.
Detective Chief Inspector Lee McNevison, who is leading the murder investigation, said: “If anyone saw anything unusual in the Moor Road area of Coalisland in recent days we would like them to contact detectives at Dungannon police station by calling the non-emergency number 101. Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
