Two women treated in hospital after Coalisland gang assault

Police are appealing for information following the assault of two women by a number of people at a mini roundabout in Coalisland.

The incident is reported to have taken place in the Main Street area of the town in the early hours of Sunday, November 27.

Police said that at approximately 2am, two women were assaulted by a number of people near the mini roundabout and that women required hospital treatment for their injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

Inspector Neil Beck said: "I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact Dungannon Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 328 of 28/11/16.

"Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
