All but 12 of the 1,300 homes that were hit by a disruption to their water supply today in Coalisland, should now be back online according to NI Water.
A spokesperson for the utility provider said the update had come from a field manager tasked with getting supplies up and running again after an “unexpected burst”.
Around 1,300 homes in Coalisland, Clonoe and Killen were said have suffered a loss to their supply.
The 12 houses in the Lisnastraine area that are still without water should be back online “in the next few hours”, not tomorrow as feared by MP Francie Molloy.
The problem, which was first brought to the Times’ attention by Sinn Fein councillor Linda Dillon, started today according to NI Water - and was not planned.
Cllr Dillon, said: “I will update residents as soon as I have any further news. I can be contacted in the office on 02887 748689.”
