A Dungannon man has been given a jail sentence of two months, suspended for two years, and fined £450 after admitting to drink driving and careless driving.

Mark Larmour, 24, from Annagole, who appeared at Dungannon Magistrate’s court on Wednesday, has a previous conviction for drink driving.

He was charged with the offences after police were called to the scene of a single road vehicle accident on the Quarry Lane on October 12, shortly before 2am.

Police found the defendant’s badly damaged car and a damaged gatepost. An alcohol test on Larmour revealed a reading of 77mcg.

His defence solicitor asked that credit be given for an early guilty plea.

Judge John Meehan accused Larmour of having a ‘deeply entrenched anti-social attitude’.

“It is callous and outrageous that you continue with your drink-driving.”
