Dungannon man in court over indecent images of children

A Dungannon man currently the subject of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) has appeared in court on charges related to indecent images of children.

Gary Paul McKenna (33) from Tullycullion Road is accused of possessing and making indecent images of a child as well as possessing an extreme pornographic image.

The offences are alleged to have occurred on dates November 2012 and January 2013. A police officer told East Tyrone Magistrates Court the charges could be connected. District Judge John Meehan remanded McKenna on £300 bail and ordered him to abide by the terms of the SOPO already in place.

This refers to a five year order handed down on January 11 2010 which banned McKenna from accessing the internet with the approval of his designated risk manager. He was also ordered not to prevent inspection of any computer, mobile phone or internet capable device. The current case is due back in court on June 18.
