A Dungannon man who failed to show up to court to be sentenced for almost ten years has been jailed.
The court heard how police attended an address on Newell Road in the early hours of September 24th 2006 where the defendant, Andrej Koneczny, now 34, was in “an irate state”.
He was described as being loud and aggressive towards a female who was present. He was screaming that the woman was crazy.
Police asked Koneczny to calm down and go back indoors on several occasions, but he refused.
The officers noted that a number of children had appeared at the window of a nearby address due to the noise and arrested him.
Handing down a sentence of seven days, District Judge John Meehan told the court that he had admitted the offence but failed to appear for sentencing on June 20th 2007.
