The much anticipated Dungannon Music and Drama Festival gets underway in just under a week, with hundreds of competitors ready to take to the stage and showcase their amazing talent.

This year, the Music Classes of the competition will take place in St Anne’s Church Hall in the town from 2 to 6 March, while the Verse Speaking Classes will be held in the Presbyterian Church Halls from 9 to 13 March.

As always, the festival has attracted some of the most prestigious adjudicators in the industry, with Mrs Marilynne J.R. Davies judging the Music section, while Miss Norma Redfearn and Mrs Patricia Irvine will take over in the Verse Speaking competitions.

They are joined by Mrs Marilyn Nesbitt and Mr Rodney Spence as Official Accompanists.

Marilynne Davies is a former student of the Welsh College of Music and Drama in piano, voice and cello, and has conducted choirs and orchestras who have performed on the BBC and ITV.

Norma Redfearn, meanwhile, is an examiner for Trinity College London. Patricia Irvine, a speech teacher, is a graduate of Guildhall.
