Fivemiletown man told ‘you’re taking the slow route to prison’

A Fivemiletown man caught for the second time in possession of cannabis will discover his sentence in August.

The court heard how police searched the home of Stephen McDade, 26, from Spout Road, on March 11.

A quantity of herbal cannabis and cannabis resin was recovered.

The defendant told the constables that the 15 grammes of drugs - with a street value of £150 - were for his own use.

Adjourning the case for sentencing on August 3, District Judge John Meehan told the defendant that he was “taking the slow route to prison”.
