Augher Summer Festival(Hooley in the Valley) comes to town from August 7th-10th for what promises to be another wonderful celebration of music and entertainment in general.

Hooley in the Valley is all part of Augher Summer Festival that is hosted in a spacious marquee and grounds near Augher on the Main Ballygawley Road.

Music holds centre stage plus there’s ballroom dancing, a funday, bingo and a junior disco all rolled into an exciting package.

The Festival starts on Thursday(August 7th) with a primary school age-group disco, followed on Friday night(August 8th) by Augher Summer Festival ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

Saturday afternoon(August 9th) features a fun-filled family day and on Saturday night it’s the turn of Derek Ryan & band on the main marquee stage. Bingo follows on Sunday afternoon(August 10th) and Jim Devine & band close the hooley on Sunday night.

Pairings for ‘Strictly’ Augher’ were announced at a recent preview night held in Quinn’s Corner, whetting the appetite for what promises to be a memorable occasion in the marquee.

‘Strictly Augher’ contestants have been working extremely hard on the dance floor, all part of a sustained training programme under the expert guidance of choreographer Rachael Cummings and producer Gerry Cunningham.

Following Saturday’s fun day, Saturday night sees Derek Ryan make his Valley Hooley debut. Derek is making tremendous strides in the world of country music but he sings songs from across various musical genres too. He has a super band behind him as well.

Sunday afternoon(August 10th) features the popular Bingo session return and Sunday night then brings the festival to a conclusion as Tyrone singer Jim Devine makes his inaugural appearance at the Valley Hooley.

Jim has made a big impact on the music scene since his participation in ‘The Voice of Ireland’ and is now playing up and down the land with a brilliant band at his back.

Augher Summer Festival has grown into one of the most significant festivals of its kind in Ireland, with a warm welcome awaiting all.
