Killymoon Road in Cookstown to close in September for resurfacing

The Killymoon Road in Cookstown will be closed for two days at the beginning of next month to facilitate resurfacing work.

It is expected that the work will take five days to complete.

Ulster Unionist MLA for the area, Sandra Overend, said the project would benefit local residents and those who use the nearby Killymoon Golf Club.

Ms Overend continued: “Preparatory work has already begun, and the scheme is expected to take five weeks to complete, with most of the work completed using traffic controls to allow access for residents. A two day road closure will be required to lay the final surface, scheduled for 7-8 September.

“I understand that Transport NI have erected signage and conducted letter drops in the Jubilee Park and Castle Villas areas to inform those worst affected by the disruption. However, if any residents have access concerns they are urged to speak to the workmen on site, or alternatively they can contact my office on 028 86748090.”
