The 35-year-old man arrested in connection with the death of Stevie Conlon on Mountjoy Road in Killeen on Saturday, has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

It is understood the 44-year-old’s body was found in the road, outside Coalisland, around 4am on Saturday morning.

Sinn Féin councillor Joe O’Neill has paid tribute to the ‘lovely lad’.

“I just feel devastated for the whole family,” he said.

The victim was understood to have left a friend’s house to walk across the Mountjoy Road to his home shortly before his body was discovered, according to Cllr O’Neill.

Police are continuing to appeal to anyone with any information to contact officers in Dungannon on 101.
