Man killed in Tyrone road accident

Police can confirm that a 64 year old man has died following a one vehicle road traffic incident shortly before 10:25am involving a dark coloured Audi A4 car and a pedestrian on the Monaghan Road, Aughnacloy area this morning.

One man aged 51 years old has been arrested in relation to the incident. He is currently helping police with their enquiries.

Motorists are advised to seek alternative main routes for their journey as police continue to attend the scene.

Police would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who was travelling on the Monaghan Road around the time of the incident to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple Police Station by calling 0845 600 8000.
