A Dungannon-based pro-life group has said that a number of the parties contesting the Fermanagh/South Tyrone constituency in the forthcoming Westminster elections are so ashamed of their pro-abortion policies that they are deliberately hiding their positions from the Catholic electorate.
A spokeswoman from the St Joseph ’s Pro-Life Group Dungannon has asked why Alliance , Sinn Féin and the Greens are keeping quiet about their pro-abortion stance when canvassing voters on the doorsteps.
“Why are the candidates from these parties not telling people that they support the continued presence of the Marie Stopes abortion clinic in Belfast? Would they oppose the opening of similar British abortion clinics in Dungannon or Enniskillen?” asked the spokeswoman.
Meanwhile pro-life groups have been extremely active in South Tyrone over the past week in getting the facts about abortion across to the voters and they have been joined by supporters from the European Continent.
The St Joseph ’s Pro-Life Group Dungannon has promised to intensify efforts to make abortion an election issue in the run-up to May 7th and members have welcomed the prayers and support they have received from people around the area and beyond.
