Recently a large group of Primary 7 students from local primary schools took part in an exciting Sentinus Workshop at St. Ciaran’s College, Ballygawley.

The P7s were invited to help build on the already strong links between themselves and St. Ciaran’s and as well as learning new skills in Science and Engineering; they became more familiar with the St. Ciaran’s staff and students and had the opportunity to mix with pupils from other primary schools.

Peter Waugh from Sentinus, the home of STEM enrichment and enhancement activities for schools in Northern Ireland, facilitated the event and was ably assisted by the Year 13 Mentors who helped make the P7s feel so welcome.

The P7 students worked in groups assembling their own solar panels which they had great fun testing and then created and launched rockets at the front of the school building!

St. Ciaran’s is proud of its strong relationship with the local primary schools and it was lovely for both the staff and students to see the excitement and enjoyment experienced by the primary school pupils involved.
