There have been calls for speed calming measures in Moy following reports about traffic in the vicinity of a number of schools.
Police conducted speed checks on Dungannon Road as children went to school last week, and said: “Everyone was behaving themselves this morning. Good to see, but wish it wasn’t just our presence that made people stick to the speed limit.”
One mother said the speed at which vehicles passed one playgroup in the village was “way too fast”, while others called for the introduction of speed bumps.
SDLP Councillor for the area, Denise Mullen, said she had received several complaints from people living in Moy about speeding traffic.
Cllr Mullen said she welcomed the police operation and called on drivers to use caution at all times, especially when close to schools and houses.
