A recent variety sale was held in St Johns Parochial Hall, Moy.
The sale raised a fantastic £4125 for charity.
The money raised was in aid of Mary’s Meals charity, which provides more than one million children from some of the most impoverished countries with a daily meal in their place of education. This attracts chronically poor children into the classroom, where they receive an education which can set them free from poverty in later life. If it were not for this charity, these children in order to survive would work in fields, beg on street corners or even scavenge in rubbish dumps.
The amount raised at the sale will enable 338 children to receive Mary’s Meals for a whole school year, as it only costs £12.20 for one child for the year.
The organisers of the variety sale would like to thank everyone who donated or contributed in any way to the event, as well as those who came along to lend their support.
