A young Pomeroy man is in a ‘critical condition’ at the Royal Victoria Hospital after a three vehicle car crash near Augher on Saturday night.
The incident, which occurred on the Annaghill Road at around 9pm, is believed to have left handball coach Conor Coyle with a broken leg, a broken arm and internal injuries.
The 21-year-old is being treated in the hospital’s intensive care unit according to a spokesperson for the Belfast Trust.
Mid Ulster councillor Cathal Mallaghan, who is also from Pomeroy, said: “I just hope he makes a full recovery.
“The Coyle family are very close friends - this is a very difficult time for all of them.”
