Clarence Cup R1: Nortel ended a six-game losing sequence, cruising through in the Clarence Cup with Saturday’s 6-2 victory over Premier Division stablemates Ardglass.

Ardglass had two players sent off. Nortel’s marksmen were Mark Wilkinson (2), Darren McKay (2), Tommy Hammill and Glenn Hand.

There were no real problems for Wellington Rec as they defeated 4th Newtownabbey Old Boys 3-0 at Brookvale Park.

Wellington progressed thanks to two goals from John Pawson and one from Colin Paisley.

Division 1C: Mossley manager Garry Campbell got the response he had been looking for, even though they still went down 4-1 at Colin Valley.

They led 1-0 at the break, thanks to Lee Graham’s 10th-minute opener, but Valley rattled in four unanswered strikes in the second half.
