Mickey Harte has invited two more players into his Tyrone panel, ahead of their upcoming clash with Limerick on June 28th.
Trillick’s Lee Brennan and Omagh’s Conor Meyler are the two players who are believed to have joined up with Harte’s panel last Tuesday.
Both were integral members of the victorious U21 All-Ireland side this year, and have been in top form for their respective clubs this year.
Brennan was in scintillating form in Trillick’s first round Senior Championship tie with Dungannon a fortnight ago, notching 1-10. Several weeks before he returned 3-4 against Strabane in the league.
Despite being only 18, Brennan has already amassed impressive individual honours, being named an Ulster Colleges All-star for three consecutive years for St Michaels Enniskillen, and is also on the short-list for Under-21 Player of the Year along side Tyrone’s own Cathal McShane and Tipperary’s Colin O’Riordan.
Brennan joins fellow Trillick clubmen Mattie Donnelly, Rory Brennan and Richard Donnelly on the Tyrone panel, with the latter called up just before the Donegal tie following solid performances with the St Macartan’s.
Meyler had a memorable breakout year for the St Enda’s last year, and was a key player in their run to the Ulster Club Final where Omagh were narrowly beaten by Slaughtneil in a thrilling encounter. Meyler continued that form with a string of impressive performances for Feargal Logan’s side, and struck crucial goals against Armagh and Donegal as Tyrone claim the crown for the first time since 2001.
Brennan and Meyler join fellow U21s Cathal McShane, Rory Brennan and Mark Bradley on the panel. Harte may not yet be finished delving into the squad.
