Dean Maguirc Carrickmore 2-9 - 3-6 St Joseph’s Coalisland

Anyone who was fortunate enough to be present at Healy Park in Omagh on Wednesday afternoon will doubtless be watching out the replay date after a thrilling tussle.

That’s because a cracking Post Primary Schools Tyrone U16A Final will now need a second fixture to decide the destiny of the trophy, after St Joseph’s Coalisland and Dean Maguirc, Carrickmore couldn’t be separated following an absorbing clash.

Conan Maguire gave the Dean a dream start with a second minute goal but then St Joseph’s took over.

Shea Burke found the net and Shane Crew and Paul Donnelly notched points before Dean keeper Aaron Donnelly was then sent off for a straight red card offence and Carney converted the penalty to leave St Joseph’s well on top.

The rest of the half belonged to the Dean as scores by Cathaoir Gallagher, Ciaran Cuddy and Ciaran Daly close the gap to the minimum.

Seven minutes into the second half Conall Grimes bagged a second goal for the Dean and, when Ciaran Daly added a couple of points, they looked the likely winners.

With five minutes to go Burke scored his second goal and when Carney added a point the lead changed hands.

Deep into injury time Dean centre half back Colm Logue sent over a superb equaliser to send the final to a replay.

Dean Maguirc scorers – Ciaran Daly 0-5, Conan Maguire 1-0, Conall Grimes 1-0, Cathaoir Gallagher 0-2, Colm Logue 0-1, Ciaran Cuddy 0-1.
