In the second half Coalisland fought back but the Rahillys dug deep and got the victory 0.11 to 0.7, Rahillys showing a lot of determination and heart to get the victory.
Minor ladies travelled to Coalisland and dominated throughout as they played some excellent football to win, moving the ball at great pace with great teamwork on display. This means they have won their first two games.
On Saturday u14 boys started their league campaign with a home game against Greencastle. Tyrone senior hurlers emerged from Brewster Park with two points after a convincing win over a dogged and at times undisciplined Fermanagh in Round 3 of the Allianz National Hurling League division 3A. A final scoreline of 4:14 to 2:8 will have gone some way to improving Tyrone’s scoring difference though with Monaghan and Roscommon wracking up big wins this weekend the pressure will be on Tyrone to keep their unbeaten run going. Manager Mattie Lennon will be pleased to see his forward line begin to score more with Seán Óg Grugan scoring 3:3 from play and Gerard Gilmore again netting after last weeks goal against Fingal. Next up is a double header in Omagh against Louth who lost out to Monaghan. Come along early and get behind the hurlers.
It was a great weekend for the Tyrone minor camogie team as they won the Ulster Minor Camogie shield defeating Monaghan at Garvaghey. Well done to all involved. And, for the second week in a row it’s congratulations to the boys of St Joseph Donaghmore who have qualified from their group in colleges hurling, wining two and drawing one of their qualifying games.
