BASKETBALL: Tyrone Towers host their big basketball camp

Ballymena man Paul McKee has confirmed his attendance at Tyrone Towers’ 33rd annual basketball camp.

Coach McKee was an ever-present at thecamp until he took a full time coaching position in Spain in 2013, but he returns for camp today,Monday, in St Patrick’s College. McKee’s most famous player is Liverpool FC manager Brendan Rodgers, who spent five years playing for McKee before embarking on his soccer career.

Head coach again is Ed Randolph, first American to play professionally in N.Ireland back in 1982 with Sporting Belfast, before playing in France and England. He returned in 1983 to play in Galway and then Dublin, where he has lived ever since!

Ed also has connections with football’s Premier League as son Darren has signed with West Ham after stints at Motherwell and Birmingham City.

The professionals will be joined by locals to form a very strong coaching panel. A number of surprise guest personalities are also planned.
