Richard Greenaway came up trumps when 140 members took part in the competition last weekend for Dungannon Borough Council Trophy, sponsored by T.O.Rollins.

The members of the Ladies Section were out in force for Tuesday’s opening event, The Lucky Dip played over 9 holes.

The weather was glorious, afternoon ladies playing in strong sunshine, but temperatures dropping quickly.

Lady Captain Alexis Davidson congratulated members returning good scores. Prizes were presented as follows:

First: Jayne Henry 21 pts

Second: Pauline Campbell, Marion McKeown, Karen Hetherington, all17 pts

With all competitors receiving a prize, there was a jovial atmosphere in the clubhouse as the ladies chatted and compared their prizes.

The Lady Captain congratulated those who helped in Stew and Talent Night and Winter Alliance team on braving the strong winds in Lurgan on Monday and the members wished the Lady Captain and Vice Captain Karen Hetherington good luck as they take on Loughgall in Irish Daily Mail Foursomes competition.

Next week’s competition is a 9 hole scramble, names to go on sheet in Locker Room.

Tuesday’s Quiz was well attended and all enjoyed it. Thanks to those who gave donations for the raffle and Lorraine Wilson’s organisation skills. The winners with 70 points was Just Us, £300 donated to Meningitis Research NI.

The Stew and Talent night featured great variety: songs by Cecil Brown, Irish dancers Cassie and Jude McNally from Gerard Carroll School, Taylormade Irish Traditional Group, Brendan Cullen keeping everyon in craic with stories and poems, songs by Adam Willis and Abby Brown, clarinet music by Alison Chestnutt, songs by Aidan Kavanagh, dancing with Dixie Liners, more poems from Brendan Cullen and more songs from Cecil Brown.
